What's the difference between edge-to-edge and custom quilting?

Edge-to-edge quilting uses a single continuous pattern across your entire quilt, creating beautiful, consistent results at an affordable price. Custom quilting involves different patterns in different areas (like borders, blocks, and sashing) and requires more time and planning.

How long does it take to get my quilt back?

Turnaround time varies by season and our current queue, but we typically complete edge-to-edge quilts within 2-3 weeks. We'll give you an estimated completion date when you drop off your quilt. Rush services may be available—just ask!

Do I need to provide batting and backing?

You can provide your own, or we can supply high-quality batting and backing fabric for an additional fee. If you're providing your own, we'll give you specific measurements to ensure proper sizing.

Preparing Your Quilt

How should I prepare my quilt top before bringing it in?

Make sure your quilt top is pressed well with seams lying flat. Trim any loose threads from the back. Your backing and batting should be at least 6-8 inches larger than your quilt top on all sides. We'll check everything when you drop it off to ensure the best results.

What if my quilt top isn't perfectly square?

Don't worry—minor imperfections are normal! We'll do our best to work with your quilt top as-is. For significantly wavy borders or major issues, we'll discuss options with you before quilting.

Can you help me choose a quilting pattern?

Absolutely! We have thousands of patterns to choose from, and we're happy to make recommendations based on your quilt's style, fabric, and intended use. We can show you samples and help you visualize the finished result.

Memory Quilts

How many T-shirts do I need for a memory quilt?

It depends on the desired quilt size and shirt sizes. Generally, 9-12 shirts make a nice lap quilt, 16-20 make a twin size, and 25-30 make a queen size. We can work with what you have and help you plan the perfect size.

What types of clothing can you use besides T-shirts?

We can incorporate jerseys, sweatshirts, baby clothes, ties, flannel shirts, uniforms, and other meaningful fabrics. Each item is carefully cut and stabilized to ensure it quilts beautifully.

Do the shirts need to be in perfect condition?

Not at all! We can work around stains, holes, or worn areas by featuring the best parts of each shirt. The sentimental value matters more than perfection

How do you arrange the T-shirts in the quilt?

We can arrange them chronologically, by color, randomly, or according to your preferences. We'll discuss layout options and can provide a design plan before we begin piecing.

Can you add other elements to a memory quilt?

Yes! We can incorporate photos printed on fabric, embroidered names and dates, special patches, or other meaningful elements. Let's discuss your vision.

Binding & Finishing

Do you offer binding services?

Yes, we offer binding services to beautifully finish the edges of your quilt.
You’re welcome to provide your own binding fabric, or we can help you choose a coordinating option from our curated stash. We use a 3" double-fold strip, sewn to one side, then folded over and secured with a clean zigzag stitch—giving your quilt a polished, durable edge that’s ready to be loved for years to come.

What binding styles do you offer?

We typically apply double-fold binding with machine stitching on the front and hand-stitching on the back for a professional, durable finish. Other options may be available upon request.

Will my quilt be ready to use right away?

Yes! Once you pick up your finished quilt, it's ready to enjoy. We recommend washing it gently in cold water before first use to give it that soft, crinkled look that makes quilts so cozy.

Care & Maintenance

How do I care for my finished quilt?

Wash in cold water on a gentle cycle and tumble dry on low, or line dry. Avoid harsh detergents and bleach. With proper care, your quilt will last for generations.

Can longarm quilted quilts be washed?

Absolutely! Longarm quilting creates strong, secure stitching that holds up beautifully to regular washing and use.

Getting Started

How do I schedule my quilting project?

Contact us by phone, email, or stop by during business hours. We'll discuss your project, answer questions, and schedule a drop-off time. No appointment necessary for consultations!

Do you require a deposit?

In most cases, no deposit is required. However, for projects involving extensive ordering of specialty fabrics, hand binding, or other curated services, we may request a deposit to secure materials. The remaining balance is due when you pick up your finished quilt.
