Sid, designed by machine‑quilting teacher and author Angela Walters for Creative Grids®, is a versatile quilting ruler that’s part straight, part curvy, and fully engineered to help you create striking quilting designs. Made in the USA from high‑quality acrylic, it features precision‑etched measurements and the Creative Grids® exclusive non‑slip grip that allows the tool to glide smoothly over the fabric while positioning, then stay firmly in place with light pressure to prevent slipping as you quilt. Black and white dashed guide lines ensure excellent visibility on any fabric color.

Sid’s straight edge is ideal for free‑motion quilting straight lines. The long cutting edge and built‑in needle stops on both ends help maintain perfect spacing and accurate start‑and‑stop points when turning corners. The cut‑out center makes stitching in the ditch simple and controlled, and rotating the tool opens the door to more intricate motifs such as starbursts. The curvy side is designed for quilting bracket motifs—a slightly pointy, slightly rounded shape that works beautifully in skinny borders, as an allover design, or inside blocks. Sid can also be used to quilt piano‑key borders without rotating the ruler, and the 45‑degree lines help with mitered corners. Needle stops throughout the tool ensure clean, consistent transitions in every design.
