Celebrating 10 Years of Stitches, Stories, and Community at Countryside Quilts™

Ten years. A full decade of fabrics flying off the shelves, thread spools spinning, and quilters gathering around cutting tables to share patterns, stories, and a whole lot of laughter. It's hard to believe that Countryside Quilts™, a brand under Countryside General Stores, has been part of your creative journey for this long, but here we are in 2026, celebrating a milestone that wouldn't exist without you.

From Jefferson City to Marshfield and honestly, every corner of this beautiful country where our quilts have traveled, we're taking a moment to say thank you. Thank you for trusting us with your projects, your heirlooms-in-the-making, and your passion for keeping this timeless craft alive.

From a Missouri Dream to a National Creative Hub

When Countryside General Stores opened the doors to Countryside Quilts™ back in 2016, we had one simple goal: create a space where quilters felt like family. We wanted to be more than just another shop with bolts of fabric stacked to the ceiling. We wanted to be your place, the spot you'd stop by not just for supplies, but for advice, inspiration, and maybe a cup of coffee while you debated between two shades of batik.

What started as a local Missouri operation quickly grew into something bigger than we ever imagined. Word spread about our commitment to quality, our carefully curated selection, and yeah, our habit of treating every customer like an old friend. Before long, quilters from across the nation were reaching out, asking if we shipped, if we had this fabric or that notion, if we could help them solve a particularly tricky binding problem.

We said yes. Every single time.

That growth didn't happen by accident. It happened because you told your quilting buddies about us. You tagged us in photos of your finished quilts. You drove hours to visit our physical locations because you heard we had "the good stuff." And honestly? That's the kind of word-of-mouth love you can't buy: it's earned, one quilt block at a time.

Gratitude Sewn Into Every Seam

If we've learned anything over these ten years, it's that quilting isn't just about fabric and thread. It's about people. The grandmother teaching her granddaughter how to make her first nine-patch. The quilter who makes comfort quilts for the local hospital. The modern maker experimenting with bold colors and improv piecing. The traditionalist who hand-stitches every single binding because that's how her mother taught her.

You've all been part of our story, and we've been honored to be part of yours.

To our Jefferson City and Marshfield communities: you've been our foundation. You've shopped with us through every season, attended our workshops, and supported us when we took risks (remember when we expanded our longarm section? That was all because you asked for it). Your loyalty means everything.

To our national customers: whether you found us through a Google search at 2 a.m. while hunting for the perfect backing fabric, or you stumbled upon us through social media: thank you for making Countryside Quilts™ part of your creative process. We don't take it for granted that you chose us among thousands of options out there.

Preserving Craftsmanship in a Fast-Paced World

At the heart of everything we do is a mission that hasn't wavered since day one: preserving craftsmanship and quality in an age that often prioritizes speed over substance.

Look, we get it. The world moves fast these days. Amazon delivers in 24 hours, and fast fashion churns out trends before you can say "fat quarter." But quilting? Quilting is the beautiful rebellion against all that. It's slow. It's intentional. It's about choosing fabrics that speak to you, piecing them together with care, and creating something that lasts generations.

That's why we've never compromised on quality. We stock fabrics from brands that share our values: companies that still care about thread count and colorfastness. We carry notions that actually work (because nobody has time for rotary cutters that go dull after three cuts). And we train our staff to know their stuff, so when you call with a question about batting or ask which stabilizer works best for your project, you get real answers from real quilters.

Growing While Staying True to Our Roots

A lot has changed in ten years. We've expanded our product selection to over 60,000 items. We launched a brand-new website (shout-out to everyone who helped us test it and gave feedback: you're the real MVPs). We've embraced technology and social media to connect with quilters everywhere.

And then there's the Countryside Experience Podcast: the main platform sponsored by Countryside General Stores LLC. If you haven't tuned in yet, you're missing out on conversations with quilters, makers, and creative minds from all walks of life. The podcast has become our brand voice, a place where we dive deeper into the stories behind the stitches and celebrate the people who make this community so special. Countryside Quilts™, as a brand under Countryside General Stores, is proud to be part of that larger conversation about creativity, craftsmanship, and what it means to make things with our hands in 2026.

But here's the thing: even with all that growth and all those changes, we've kept what matters most: that neighborly touch.

You can still call us and talk to a real person. You can still walk into our stores and get help selecting fabrics for your next project. We still remember your names, your favorite patterns, and that you prefer Aurifil thread in 50-weight. Because at the end of the day, technology is great, but quilting is a human thing. It's about connection.

Share Your Story With Us

Now here's where we need your help. We're gathering quilt stories: those moments over the last ten years where fabric, thread, and a little bit of magic came together to create something meaningful.

Maybe you made your first quilt with fabric from our shop. Maybe you finished a UFO (unfinished object) that had been haunting your sewing room for years. Maybe you created a wedding quilt for your daughter, a memory quilt from your father's shirts, or a charity quilt that brought comfort to someone in need.

Whatever your story is, we want to hear it. Share your favorite projects from the past decade with us on social media, or stop by one of our locations to tell us in person. We're collecting these stories because they remind us why we do what we do: and because your quilts deserve to be celebrated.

Snap a photo of that quilt you're proud of (we know you have at least three), write a few sentences about what it means to you, and tag us. Let's fill the next few months with ten years worth of beautiful makes, memories, and the incredible talent of this community.

Looking Ahead to the Next Ten Years

So what's next for Countryside Quilts™? More of what you love, plus a few surprises we're cooking up for the future. We're committed to staying on top of trends (have you seen some of the new arrivals lately?), supporting your creative journey, and being the place you turn to when you need supplies, advice, or just some quilting camaraderie.

We're also doubling down on education: more workshops, more tutorials, and more content through the Countryside Experience Podcast that helps you grow as a maker. Because ten years in, we still believe that every quilter deserves access to knowledge, quality materials, and a community that cheers them on.

Thank you for ten incredible years. Thank you for every bolt of fabric you've purchased, every question you've asked, every quilt you've shared with us, and every moment you've made Countryside Quilts™ part of your creative life.

Here's to the next chapter: may it be filled with perfectly matched seams, zero thread tangles, and all the beautiful quilts your heart desires.

Now grab those scraps, fire up your machine, and let's see what magic we can make together.

Got a quilt story or project from the last 10 years? We'd love to hear it: share it with us and let's celebrate this milestone together! 🎉🧵
