Why Celestial Gems?

When we first laid eyes on the concept for Celestial Gems, we knew it was a perfect fit for our community. The design is grand, the colors are deep, and the textures are incredibly sophisticated.

The finished quilt measures a magnificent 96½" × 96½", making it a true heirloom-sized masterpiece. It’s the kind of quilt that anchors a bedroom or makes a bold statement as a wall hanging in a large space. But the size isn’t the only thing that’s big: the style is astronomical.

The Magic of Aura & Vibe by QT Fabrics

The secret sauce of the Celestial Gems quilt lies in the fabric selection. We’ve curated this project using two of QT Fabrics' most beloved basic blender collections: Aura and Vibe.

• Aura: Think of this as the "ethereal" element. Aura is a watercolor-style blender that offers soft, fluid movement. It isn’t just a solid color; it has a mottled, painted look that adds depth without distracting from the overall pattern.
• Vibe: This collection brings the "structure." Vibe features a painterly, tweed-like texture. It’s sophisticated and slightly more graphic than Aura, providing the perfect counterpoint to the softer watercolor tones.

1. In-Store Classes: Join us at our shop located at 2117 Missouri Blvd, Jefferson City, MO. There is nothing quite like the energy of sewing alongside fellow makers, sharing tips, and seeing everyone's progress in person.
2. Virtual via Zoom: Can’t make it to Jefferson City? No problem! We offer live Zoom sessions so you can join the fun from anywhere in the U.S. Plus, all virtual students receive a Zoom recording after each class, so you can re-watch the tricky parts as many times as you need.

The program consists of seven monthly classes running from January through July 2027. It’s the perfect way to stay motivated and ensure your project actually gets finished!
