For quilters and sewists who value balanced stitches, fewer bobbin changes, and more bang for their buck, Precision Prewound Bobbins are a game changer.

Each L style prewound bobbin is wound with our popular Precision thread, a 60 wt. 2-ply, lint-free polyester thread designed to be smooth, strong, and nearly invisible. Loved for its subtle presence and surprising strength, Precision blends beautifully into the background and pairs effortlessly with 40 wt., 50 wt., 60 wt., and other fine top threads.

So why choose prewound bobbins? Ours are wound using advanced textile technology that ensures consistent tension and a tight, uniform wind. This means our Precision prewounds hold up to 50% more thread than a self-wound bobbin. Directly translated: more time at your machine with fewer interruptions from bobbin changes!

These L style bobbins are each wound with 100 yards of Precision thread and come 12 to a pack. They’re also popular for English Paper Piecing (EPP) thanks to their strength and minimal stretch, which helps prevent breaking and snapping under tension and keeps your stitches tucked smoothly into the fabric.

Why you'll love them:

  • Prewound with Precision 60 wt. polyester thread: smooth, strong, and lint-free
  • Holds up to 50% more thread than self-wound bobbins
  • Pairs well with a wide range of top threads, from 40 wt., 50 wt., 60 wt., and 100 wt.
  • Includes 12 L style bobbins per pack, each precision wound with uniform tension

With Precision Prewound Bobbins from YLI Threads, you'll enjoy smoother stitching, less downtime, and the ease of knowing your bobbin thread is always up to the task. Quilters, sewists, and embroiderers appreciate the simplicity and ease of our prewounds that last much longer than self-wound bobbins and can be used for many different applications and techniques.

Don't be afraid to loosen your top tension to achieve perfectly balanced stitches. A heavier thread on top, paired with a lightweight thread in the bobbin, may require some minor adjustments. You can always go back to your machine's default settings (usually 5.0) if you feel apprehensive about changing your tension settings.
